Vikings LG Steve Hutchinson suffers concussion
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP)—Minnesota Vikings left guard Steve Hutchinson is
recovering from a concussion.
Hutchinson got hurt Sunday against New Orleans. He cut open his lip and
needed stitches after leaving in the third quarter. Coach Leslie Frazier didn’t
mention the concussion after the game but said Monday that Hutchinson must pass
the league’s required protocol this week to be cleared to return.
Cornerback Asher Allen also suffered a concussion, in the first quarter
against the Saints. Another starter, safety Husain Abdullah, was placed on
injured reserve earlier this month due to lingering post-concussion symptoms.
Hutchinson has started every game in nine of his 11 NFL seasons. He missed
12 games because of a broken leg in 2002 and the last five games of last year
with a thumb injury.
