Sidney Crosby has been sidelined indefinitely by a recurrence of concussion-like symptoms.
“I don’t think ‘frustrating’ even describes it,” Crosby said (via the Post-Gazette). He has scored 12 points in eight games since returning Nov. 23 after being sidelined for almost 11 months.
The Pittsburgh Penguins center, who will be limited to light workouts, will have to take the same steps he did before: skating, then practicing, then practicing with contact, then being cleared to play. This time, though, “I’m way better off than I was 10 months ago.”
According to the Post-Gazette, results of a neurocognitive test last week did not reveal a concussion, but Crosby’s symptoms and headaches forced the decision to limit him again. Although the moment of his injury cannot be pinpointed, he was believed to have been hurt Dec. 5, when David Krejci of the Boston Bruins hit him along the boards. He practiced Wednesday, but has not played in the Penguins’ two games since being injured.
