Sabres G Miller dealing with concussion

Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller suffered a concussion in Saturday’s game against Boston and will be sidelined for an undetermined period.

Miller was hurt in the first period when Bruins forward Milan Lucic barreled into him while the goaltending was attempting to play the puck.

Sabres general manager Darcy Regier said Miller will not dress for Monday’s game against Montreal and it is unknown the former Vezina Trophy winner will be sidelined.

“Hopefully it is not severe and hopefully it is not long term,” Regier said.

Miller finished out the first period but was replaced by Jhonas Enroth to start the second. Buffalo called up Drew MacIntyre from Rochester of the American Hockey League to back up Enroth for Monday’s game.

After the game, an irate Miller told the Buffalo News that Lucic was “gutless.”

Lucic is expected to meet with league disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan on Monday.

Miller was already having a rough season, posting a 5-6-0 mark with a 2.86 goals-against average. He has won just once in his last six starts.
