Guthrie sports medicine to host post-concussion support group meeting
The Post-Concussion support group for athletes and their families will hold its next meeting on Sunday, Nov 6. The group offers support to athletes, and their families, who are dealing with sports related Post-Concussion Syndrome and those who have been forced to stop playing sports or working because of repeated concussions.
Guthrie Sports Medicine, athletic trainer Steve Hicks is hosting the meeting, which will be held at 2:00 PM in the Guthrie Clinic 4 Blue Conference Room, located on Guthrie’s Sayre campus. Mike Miller, high school basketball announcer for The Choice 102.1 radio station out of Sayre, will be the guest speaker for this meeting. Miller has dealt with concussions on many levels including a family history and he has a strong voice in Harrisburg as a advocate, lobbying for Sports Concussion reform. A discussion will follow his presentation.
