UCLA’s Powell sustains concussion in practice

LOS ANGELES – UCLA freshman guard Norman Powell sustained a concussion at a workout this week and received three staples in his forehead to close a small cut.

A team spokesman said Thursday that the injury occurred on Tuesday when Powell was driving the lane and was accidentally elbowed by a teammate.

He is listed as day-to-day.
