Sounders’ Boss has concussion, placed on DL

TUKWILA, Wash. (AP) — Backup goalkeeper Terry Boss has been placed on the disabled list by the Seattle Sounders FC, ending his season due to a concussion.
Seattle made the move on Friday, a day before returning to MLS play against Real Salt Lake.
Boss was hurt on Sept. 2 while playing for the Puerto Rico national team in a 2012 World Cup qualifier against St. Kitts and Nevis. It was his second concussion in less than two months after suffering a head injury during the Sounders’ exhibition loss against Manchester United in July.
Boss had made four starts this season for Seattle in all competitions. His last start came on Aug. 23 when Seattle won at Monterrey 1-0 in the CONCACAF Champions League.
